Mario Thronickes
exhibtion is entitled "Chimera", refering to various definitions of this term (cf. Encyclopedia Britannica):

1. in Greek mythology, a fire-breathing female monster resembling a lion in the forepart, a goat in the middle, and a dragon behind. The word is now used generally to denote a fantastic idea or figment of the imagination.
2. in architecture, is a term loosely used for any grotesque, fantastic, or imaginary beast used in decoration.
3. in genetics, an organism or tissue that contains at least two different sets of DNA, most often originating from the fusion of as many different zygotes (fertilized eggs).
4. other types of chimeras include parthenogenetic and androgenetic chimeras. The former may be produced when a fertilized egg generated through parthenogenesis (a form of asexual reproduction) fuses with a normal zygote.
