Exhibition of photo artist Meike Kenn

From 15 August through 1 November 2013 freelance artist and photographer Meike Kenn will exhibit her photographs at Institutsgebäude Süd, Campus Virchow-Klinikum, Charité - Universitätsmedizin. The exhibition is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.

Meike Kenn explores with her photographs the interplay between photography and painting. Her new series "Portraits" focuses on woman in society. "I experience them as very strong and lively, self-conscious, especially the very young ones. However, I also feel their inner conflicts because of their high expectations and their own attitude, putative responsibilities and real dependencies." (Meike Kenn)

With this exhibition, the BCRT is continuing its communications work. Under the slogan "Science meets Art", BCRT opens its doors for young and talented artists and gives them a space to present their work. The series is led by the idea to create a place of encounter between science and art. "As in sciences as in art, both are driven by curiosity," says head of Science Management of BCRT, Julia Fahl, "Art and science may find a space to satuate and permeate each other."

Contact: The exhibition is a joint event by all institutes of Institutsgebäude Süd. Contact person for BCRT is Erik Zürn.
