Full house during the "Long Night of Sciences"

May 26th, 2018
How does the immune system change when we age? What is so special about stem cells? Visitors to the "Long Night of Sciences" on 9th June received many interesting answers to questions like these at the Berlin-Brandenburg Center for Regenerative Therapies (BCRT). Even the youngest visitors discovered a lot and did enjoy themselves.

This year’s top draw was again “CSI Wedding: crime scene BCRT”. Here, the participants slipped into the shoes of a forensic scientist and solved criminal cases with simple means. Those who were not so keen on detective work grabbed a seat in lectures on "Living Drugs" and "The Ageing Immune System", examined histologically stained insects under the microscope or had their bones analysed by ultrasound. The young researchers were also able to sort color-coded cells and even did pipetting by hand.

The next Long Night of Science will take place on 15th June 2019.
